Mexican Fire Opal & Garnet Drop Earrings in Silver

These beautiful and summery earrings are made with beautifully faceted rich Orange Mexican Fire Opals. They feature a crackled appearance and are accented with deep red Garnet buttons. The findings are all handmade in Sterling Silver. 

Like other opal gemstones, between three and ten percent of the weight of fire opal is water. Owing to its high water content, fire opal is rather delicate and should be protected from heat and prolonged exposure to strong light, to avoid drying. It is approximately 5.5-6.5 o the Moh's hardness scale (10 is diamond)
